A fully decorated Christmas tree that fits on a side table and needs no water, no needles swept up and no lights untangled. Lift it from its envelope and the balsam fir springs open to about 16 inches tall and 10 inches across, then comes the fun part: more than 50 classic paper ornaments wait to be hung.
Rocking horses, ice skates, candy canes, doves, angels, painted bauble ornaments and snowflake cookies, many touched with gold foil, each with its own little hook or slot so it perches right where you put it. Trim it in one cozy evening with the kids, or add a few ornaments each night through December. A blank notecard comes along for your message, and the whole tree folds flat into its envelope, so you can send it to a grandparent or a friend across the country as the most memorable Christmas card they will get all year. Set it on the mantel, a desk at the office or a dorm room shelf, then fold it flat into its envelope in January and bring it back out next season.
