A clear glass finial, onion-shaped, with swirled ribs moulded into the glass and a rainbow iridescent coat over the whole thing, so it throws pink, green and gold flashes without having any colour of its own. Because it is transparent, it takes on whatever is behind it: green needles, white lights, a window.

Six inches tall, from the glass loop at the top to the drawn glass point at the bottom. It is the piece that makes an all-white or all-silver tree sparkle without adding colour, and it looks right hung in a window on its own.
