Clap, and the cat hears you. How many times you clap changes how it moves and whether it dances. Talk to it and it plays your voice back in a small robot warble. Cat_Bit is the cat in Clementoni's pet_bits range of collectable robots, and it reacts to sound rather than to a remote, so a four year old operates it with nothing but their own hands and voice.

It rolls on a wheel at the back, has its own personality, and calls out to the other pet_bits with a signal they recognize, so two of them left on the same rug will find each other and start talking. The free pet_bits app adds the other half: simple, age appropriate coding puzzles where the child feeds and looks after their robot and earns things for it, which is a first step into sequencing without ever calling it that.
