A milk bath that reads like a dessert and behaves like a mineral soak. Vellum Street Soap Company blends grass fed A2 milk with magnesium rich Epsom salt, baking soda, marshmallow root and arrowroot, and scents the whole thing with nothing but real vanilla bean. Poured into a hot tub it goes cloudy and soft, and the water stops feeling like water.
The reason to reach for A2 milk is specific: it carries lactic acid, which gently softens and exfoliates, and it contains less of the protein that provokes a reaction in some people. Epsom salt is the magnesium sulfate half of the equation, the mineral most of us are short on. Marshmallow root brings a naturally occurring botanical form of hyaluronic acid. None of that is a fragrance story; it is what the six ingredients on the label do.
It arrives in glass the maker did not manufacture. Most of Vellum Street's bottles are post-consumer, upcycled through the Philadelphia non-profit Bottle Underground, and the back label cheerfully admits this one was a kombucha bottle. Use 2 to 4 oz in a warm bath or a foot soak, and try not to be jealous of your own skin.
