Beep. A small blue pickup says hello to every animal on the country road, and a big dump truck says nothing to anyone, right up until the dump truck is stuck fast in the muck. Blue pulls over to push him out and sinks in too, and it is the farm animals, every one of whom he greeted on the way past, who get them both back on the road.

Alice Schertle builds the rhyme out of animal noises, so a toddler can join in on every page without knowing a single word. Jill McElmurry's farm is worth stopping for: a red horse, a white duck, a black hen, a brown cow, a sheep, a goat and a pink pig all pile onto the little truck at once, and a green frog drives.
