A stamped steel key with a slot cut down its shaft. Feed the crimped end of a metal toothpaste tube into the slot, turn the T handle, and the tube rolls up tight behind it. Nothing gets stranded in the shoulders and nothing goes in the bin half full.

Davids makes it for their own metal tubes and it behaves the same way on any of them; the maker listings put it to work on paint and cosmetic tubes as well as toothpaste. The head is embossed Davids and Made in USA, the shaft carries the maker web address, and there is no mechanism in it to wear out or jam.
