Three ingredients. Cane sugar, peppermint oil, calcium stearate. That is the entire recipe, which is why these taste like peppermint rather than like a mint-flavoured system, and why the tin says unusually simple ingredients on the front.

Simply Gum made them so minty they had to say mint twice in the name. Each mint is one gram and four calories, there are thirty in the tin, and the peppermint oil is real, so the cold lands immediately and then goes rather than lingering as sweetness.

The tin is slim, 2.5 inches square and three quarters of an inch deep, so it sits flat in a shirt pocket, a coat pocket or the small pocket of a bag. No aspartame and nothing artificial.
