Perfume Notes gilds a piece of French ephemera in real gold foil: an ornate Les Alpes perfumer's crest, flowing 19th-century handwriting, and the proud stamp of the Exposition Universelle, Ville de Paris, finished with the flourish of Maison Clement. Rubbed onto a vanity, tray or boudoir chest, it looks like antique gold leaf lettering laid by a sign painter.
