Pete is not sure about summer ending. Then he finds corn mazes, hay rides and apple picking, and by the last page he has worked out that a new season is not a loss but a list of things to go and do, with plenty to be thankful for while he does them.

The book comes loaded. As the burst on the cover promises, it includes twelve Thanksgiving cards, a fold out poster and stickers, so the story ends and the kitchen table activity begins: a child can write to family near and far while the pie is still in the oven. Kimberly and James Dean keep the artwork loose and bright, with Pete tumbling sideways through a storm of red and gold leaves.

A hardcover picture book aimed at four to eight year olds, and the shelf beside it is deep.
