Petit a Petit, l'Oiseau Fait Son Nid: little by little, the bird builds its nest. This transfer frames the French proverb in full rococo splendor, with gilded scroll cartouches, crowned garlands, flower baskets, and ribbons of blush climbing roses. The gold and rose palette against white paint is pure Marie Antoinette, and it makes an armoire or headboard feel like Versailles salvage.
