Three cut glass crystals, hand-wrapped in wire and hung in a cluster from a slim gold-tone hoop, so the whole earring swings and catches light as you move. The hoops measure an inch and a half across, which is the size that reads as jewellery from across a room without pulling on the ear.
Santa Barbara Design Studio makes these for its Fleur Jewelry line, and the useful part is the honesty of the spec: zinc alloy hoops the maker states are lead and nickel free, glass gemstones rather than crystal-look plastic, and a French hook that sits flat. The champagne tone goes with gold, with cream, and with almost anything denim.
They weigh under half an ounce the pair, so they are the earrings that stay in all day. They arrive on the maker's own printed card, ready to hand over.
