Finnabair's Clear Crackle Varnish Set brings the look of old, cracked varnish to your own work. It is a 2-step, water-based crackle system, and the cracks it creates are transparent and antique in style, so the colors and details beneath stay visible instead of disappearing under the effect. Prima made it for adding aged texture, depth and character, without hiding what you made.
Prima designed it for use over gesso, acrylic paint, decoupage fiber paper, transfers and collage, so it can finish the mixed media canvases, journals, home decor and furniture makeovers already on your worktable. Then bring the cracks forward: Prima suggests highlighting them with waxes, mica powders or pigments for unique vintage finishes and dramatic effects, and a Metallique wax rubbed into the web is an easy place to start.
