A classical column shrunk to tabletop size and hollowed out into a planter. The shaft is fluted the whole way round and finishes in a scalloped rim that follows the flutes, and it stands on an Ionic capital set upside down, so a volute scroll curls out at each corner above a bead and reel band with a small flower motif between them. All of it is cast by hand in cement, which is why the grey beige color mottles differently on every piece and the edges come out softly worn instead of crisp.

The opening is close to six inches across, wider than the outside leads you to expect, so it takes a real fern or a pot of ivy rather than one token succulent. The supplier rates it for indoors or outside. Left outdoors it will weather and they say so plainly: the concrete shifts color over time and can grow fungus. Indoors it simply sits there making the shelf around it look a century older.
