Wrap both hands around a little piece of the autumn woods. Each 16 oz stoneware mug carries a woodland creature raised in relief on its side and painted by hand, so you can feel the feathers and fur under your thumb. A reactive crackle glaze in speckled beige drifts into soft sage near the base, and because that glaze moves in the kiln, no two mugs come out exactly alike.

Choose your creature. Pheasant shows a proud bird with a red face, a teal neck and a long brown tail. Fox sits tall in bright orange with a fluffy white ruff. Turkey fans out a rust and bronze tail. Partridge is a plump gray-brown bird with an orange face and scalloped wings. The gently tapered shape is about 4 inches tall and holds a generous pour of coffee, cider or cocoa. Gather one of each for the Thanksgiving dessert table, or tuck one into a basket with fresh beans for the coffee lover who loves fall.
