Some gift bags disappear the moment the tissue comes out. This one does not. Jillson & Roberts print their Gypsy Floral artwork on a deep black ground, so the pinks, corals and soft mint blooms sit forward the way they would on a painted canvas, and the gold leafwork threads between them.

Then they raise it. Several of the flowers are die cut and lifted off the surface, each one set with a rhinestone centre, so the front of the bag catches light as it is carried. Down the side runs a multi colour stripe, a small piece of showing off that most bags skip entirely.

Large at 12.5 inches wide, 10 inches tall and 5 inches deep, it swallows a boxed candle, a folded sweater or a bottle with room for tissue, and it hangs from twisted gold cord with a matching round hang tag already tied on. Made from thick 250 gsm paper, 100% recycled with a minimum of 20% post consumer fibre, printed with soy based inks and a non toxic UV varnish, and printed on the inside too.

Good enough that it becomes part of the present.
