An amber apothecary flask, a copper medallion on a leather tie, and a label that is a painted mountain range laid over a survey map. Ethics Supply Co. makes Meadow Soak in small batches in Oregon, and it looks like something you found rather than something you bought.
The scent is wildflower rather than perfume counter: buttercup, daisy and lily, the maker's own note being an exotic blend of fresh picked mountain wildflowers. The base is a soothing blend of finely ground sea salt, Epsom salt and skin-softening glycerin, gently scented with 100 percent concentrated phthalate-free fragrance and infused with essential oils. It bubbles up as it dissolves, so the tub gets a soft foam on top of the mineral soak.
Fourteen ounces is enough for several long baths, and the flask is handsome enough that it stays out on the ledge instead of going in a cupboard. Phthalate free, cruelty free, vegan. It gives beautifully, especially to the person who hikes all weekend and never rests afterwards.
