Put the age on top of the cake in sparkle. Each numeral is soft pink wax on top and dipped in shimmering gold glitter below, set on a wooden pick that pushes straight into frosting and keeps the number standing tall for the photos and the wish.

Pick your number: 1, 2, 5 or 7. Every candle is sold on its own, so combine them for the age you are celebrating: a 2 and a 5 for twenty-five, a 1 and a 7 for seventeen, two 1s for an eleventh birthday, a 5 and a 2 for fifty-two. Each numeral stands about 3 inches tall, big enough to read across the table without crowding the decorations, and it pairs happily with a ring of plain party candles. It comes in a slim paper box with no plastic, recyclable at home.
