A hummingbird that stays. This one hovers in your window with its wings swept back, a sunny yellow head, a dark slender beak and a body of mottled green that sparkles when the light comes through. The wings and tail are clear with a wash of gold, ribbed like real feathers.

Each bird is shaped by hand from colored glass using a technique called lampwork, so no two come out exactly alike and yours will differ a little from the photo. It is about 4 inches long (10 x 8.5 x 5.5 cm), with a clear loop on its back for hanging, and it comes in a white gift box. Hang it over the kitchen sink, in a sunroom, or from a plant hook among the ferns. It is a lovely gift for a bird watcher, a gardener, or anyone who waits for the first hummingbird of spring.
