Five books, one slipcase, and more than two hundred things a child can learn to draw. The set holds the mini editions of Woodland Creatures, Under the Sea, All the Animals, Magical Things and Modern Flowers, each carrying over forty projects of its own.
Alli Koch teaches the same way in all five. A picture is broken into numbered steps built from circles, ovals and simple curves, and the last step is the finished thing. None of it takes longer than five minutes, so a child who has decided they cannot draw finds out otherwise before they lose interest.
These are the travel size editions. Each book fits a backpack or a seat pocket, the binding lies flat so the page stays open without a hand on it, and the paper is perforated, so a drawing worth keeping tears out along the line and goes on the wall.
Box set of five mini books, 400 pages in all, in a slipcase measuring 168 by 162 by 50 mm. Paige Tate & Co., 26 November 2024. ISBN-13 9781963183382. The publisher grades it for ages 6 to 12 and says children of about five follow along with help.
