Most chewing gum is built on a synthetic plastic base. This one is not. Simply Gum uses chicle, the sap of the sapodilla tree, which is what gum was made of before the industry switched, and sweetens it with plant-based xylitol instead of sugar or aspartame. The ingredient list is six things long and every one of them is a food.
The spearmint comes from spearmint oil rather than a flavour system, so it lands cool and green rather than sharp and sweet. Zero calories, two grams of sugar alcohol in a two piece serving, and no artificial sweeteners at all.
