The little red box that has been passing notes since grade school. Each 0.9 oz box of Sweethearts holds the original pastel conversation hearts, every one stamped in red with a short message: BE MINE, BESTIE, CUTIE PIE, LOVE BUG, HONEY BUN, KISS ME, SWEET PEA and more. Colors and messages come mixed, so every box is a small surprise, and half the fun is reading them out loud before they get eaten.
Turn the box over and there is a heart shaped To and From tag printed on the back, so it doubles as a ready made valentine. Write a name, tape it to a card, drop it into a classroom valentine box or tuck it beside a lunch. Buy a handful for candy grams, party favors, office treat bowls, gift bags or a red and pink Valentine's candy table.
About 100 calories a box, and peanut free and gluten free, according to Spangler Candy.
