Wise Owl Glaze in Chameleon is a soft dusty rose with a fine pearl shimmer, and it earns the name from what it does over different base colors. Over a white like Isles Ave it warms into a blush antique. Over Vintage Duck Egg it turns dusky and mauve. Over the deep teal of Abyss it cools into smoky plum. One jar, three finishes, decided entirely by what is underneath it.
This is a water based glaze, not a paint. Wise Owl builds the line with flat or metallic pigments depending on the color, and it tints and shades whatever sits beneath it instead of covering it. That means it works two ways: over a painted piece that has been sealed, or straight onto bare wood for a gel stain finish. Wise Owl's own painters have blended it with Champagne Gold and Black glaze over a Black Cherry base. Available in a 2 oz sample and 8 oz.
