Wise Owl Glaze in Cosmic Sunset is a dusky mauve purple lit from within by gold shimmer, so it shifts between plum and warm bronze as the light moves across it. Wiped into carved detail it leaves a soft violet shadow with a gilt edge, which is a far more interesting thing to do to a piece than another coat of brown. It belongs to Wise Owl's celestial glazes alongside Gotham Moon, Meteorite, Extraterrestrial and Hyper Violet.

This is a water based glaze, not a paint. Wise Owl builds the line with flat or metallic pigments depending on the color, and it tints and shades whatever sits beneath it instead of covering it. That means it works two ways: over a painted piece that has been sealed, or straight onto bare wood for a gel stain finish. Available in a 2 oz sample and 8 oz.
