Mama has gone out dancing, Lulu the babysitter is in charge, and five little monkeys have no intention of going to bed. Just one game of hide-and-seek first, they plead. Then another. And another, until the monkeys find a hiding place nobody would ever think to check.

Eileen Christelow wrote it in a bouncy rhyme that begs to be read aloud, and the refrain pulls small listeners right into the game: they count with Lulu to 10, then to 24, then all the way to 104. Her lively, colorful monkeys fill every page with the kind of bedtime mischief children love to hear about and are rarely allowed to try.

This is the sturdy 32 page board book edition, a natural partner for Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, the paperback that started the series, and an easy pick for a stocking or a birthday bag.
