Shrink-Its is the craft afternoon that ends with something a kid actually wears. Twenty charms come pre cut from shrink plastic, printed as grinning tacos, snails, fish and mushrooms. Color them in with markers or colored pencils, lay them on a lined baking sheet, and in one to three minutes in the oven they curl, flatten and come out about half the size and several times thicker.

Then they get used. Five ball chains and three lengths of cord are in the pack, so charms go straight onto backpack zippers, keys, pencil cases and doorknobs. That is the part that keeps kids coming back, because the craft is not over when the coloring is done.

OOLY rates the kit for ages 6 and up and states on the pack that adult supervision is required, since the oven step is real baking. Full instructions come inside.
