Hold the bottle up to the light and you can see what is in it: whole rose petals suspended in a clear, pale gold oil. This is the oil SopranoLabs calls Relaxation, and it is built on fractionated coconut oil cut with organic safflower, pumpkin, avocado, camellia, pomegranate, passion fruit and evening primrose seed oils, plus green tea leaf extract and vitamin E.
The scent is rose geranium: green, faintly peppery, more garden than perfume counter, carried by rose geranium and geranium essential oils with a drop of Moroccan rose absolute. The maker describes the texture as lightweight and fast absorbing, and it is meant for damp skin straight out of the shower, on hair ends, or worked into a scalp before you wash. There is no preservative in it because there is no water in it.
SopranoLabs was founded in New York in 2015 by the opera singer Inna Los, who still formulates every product herself. The maker states that everything is handmade from scratch in small batches, vegan and never tested on animals, and made without parabens, SLS, phthalates, fillers, artificial dyes, synthetic preservatives, GMOs, gluten, dimethicone or mineral oil.
Comes in its own printed carton, so it gives without wrapping. 4.2 fl oz / 124 ml in glass with a dropper.
