Turn the bottle round and the ingredient list is one line long: organic Rosa damascena flower distillate. That is the whole formula. No water added, no alcohol, no preservative, no fragrance standing in for the flower, which is unusual at this price and is the reason it smells like actual roses rather than like rose.
SopranoLabs made it as a toner and it works as one, misted on after cleansing and before whatever comes next, but the fine spray head is the part people keep it for: over finished makeup to knock the powder back, onto a beauty blender instead of water, on a plane, or straight from the fridge on a hot afternoon.
SopranoLabs was founded in New York in 2015 by the opera singer Inna Los, who still formulates every product herself. The maker states that everything is handmade from scratch in small batches, vegan and never tested on animals, and made without parabens, SLS, phthalates, fillers, artificial dyes, synthetic preservatives, GMOs, gluten, dimethicone or mineral oil.
A 2 fl oz / 59 ml glass bottle with a mist pump, supplied in its own printed carton. Small enough for a carry on.
The rest of the wind-down, in the same order.
