Someone has already cut up the flower books for you. More than 800 vintage stickers fill 184 pages: swallowtails, a monarch, one violet-blue butterfly the width of a palm, banded hawk moths, tulips streaked like marble, camellias, lilies and garden roses, a spread of sunflowers taken from a nineteenth century oil painting, and an oval still life of yellow roses in a dark glazed jug.
One page might hold nine separate butterflies at nine different scales; the next is a single botanical plate wide enough to fill a journal spread by itself. The boards are deep coral pink with the title in gold.
It sits with the adult craft titles for a reason. The publisher prints no age grade, Booktopia lists the audience as general adult, and the back board calls it a deluxe collection of vintage art rather than an activity book. Reach for it when a page needs adornment: collage, card making, junk journals, gift wrap and tags.
