From Usborne, the British children's publisher that turned the board book into something to operate: press the buttons in its sound books to hear the scenes come alive, move a slider to change both the picture and the noise, lift a flap to see what is underneath.
Built for hands that are still learning to be gentle, which is exactly what makes them such dependable first-birthday and baby-shower gifts.

The stickers are big, which matters more than it sounds at three. A small child can peel a dinosaur off the sheet and land it roughly where they meant to, and the scenes are drawn with obvious empty ground waiting for it.
Over 150 of them, and they are not all T. Rex. The book is about enormous dinosaurs generally, so the gentle giants are here alongside the predators: Brachiosaurus browsing at the top of the trees, the stalking Giganotosaurus, Triceratops and Ankylosaurus. On the hunt asks for a mother Triceratops protecting her baby and an Ankylosaurus swinging its club at an angry T. Rex. King of the dinosaurs asks for a T. Rex choosing its next prey, then a page full of everything trying to escape it.
Alice Beecham writes it and Diego Vaisberg paints it in warm greens and rust reds, big and cheerful rather than frightening, so it sits comfortably with a dinosaur obsessed three year old at bedtime. The cover carries the line about lots of other enormous dinosaurs, and the book delivers on it.
