From K'lani, started in Utah by Monica and Katie after Monica's braided bracelet snapped beside the plain black hair tie on the same wrist.
Nine and a half months of samples later, this is the answer: a hair tie that reads as jewelry and holds hair like a hair tie. The name honors the Hawaiian roots both families share — Kaiulani means the highest point of Heaven.

A gold tone ballet slipper, no bigger than a fingernail, hangs from a strand of clear faceted beads. That charm is the whole idea of this set. K'lani built Relevé around ballet, and named it for the rise onto the toes, so the rest of the card follows: a lilac and gold braid, a blush cord carrying a heart medallion with an etched wreath around it, a sand cord with a long gold tone bar, and a pale blue band printed end to end with tiny pink roses.
Every one of the five is a real hair elastic. They live on your wrist looking like a stack you chose on purpose, then one comes down when your hair has to go up, and it is a soft fabric tie rather than the black snag you keep losing. The brand puts it as a reminder to rise with confidence and move with elegance. What it is in practice is the prettiest hair tie in the room, five times over.
Medium fits wrists 5 to 6.4 inches around, the size of a normal hair elastic. Buy it for a dancer, for the mother sitting through the recital, or for yourself because the blush and gold go with everything already in the drawer.
