The packaging is half the present. It is a small car built out of printed card, red below and kraft above, with Maileg on the door and Santa's Parcel Service lettered along the side, and the mouse rides inside it looking out of the window.
She is a Little sister mouse, 11 cm (4.33 in) tall, in a red knitted pointed hat and a sweater knitted in oatmeal and red stripes, over red cloth legs. Cotton, filled with recycled polyester and PE pellets. She carries enough weight to stay sitting where a child puts her.
The car does not get thrown away. It becomes the thing she drives, and it parks in a dollhouse room or on a windowsill for the rest of the winter. That is the reason this shape of box exists.
