Little brother wears a red and cream striped knitted sweater over olive trousers held up by braces. Little sister wears a red and cream checked top under a red fuzzy vest, with a gathered red skirt. Both are Little size, one step up from the baby mice and a step below Big Brother and Big Sister, and they lie side by side in a red and white striped bed.

Look at the mattress. There is an extra line of stitching straight across the middle of it, and it is not decoration: fold the mattress on that stitch and it stands up as a small couch with a seat and a back. One piece of bedding, two pieces of furniture, and children work that out for themselves.
