Three pieces, and every one of them behaves. The landing net has a real mesh bag on a metal ring and a turned wooden handle. The bucket is pressed metal in a soft green, with a swinging wire handle and the word maileg embossed into the side. The fish is knitted in pale blue with a stitched eye and a flat tail, and it is filled with glass pellets, so it hangs with real weight in a mouse's paws instead of floating like stuffing.

The handle is why this set works. Maileg's hiker mice carry magnets in their paws, and the net has metal where it counts: a collar at the top of the shaft and the ring the mesh is hung on. Maileg says a mouse can hold the net herself. That turns a shelf into a river bank: a mouse walks down with an empty bucket and comes back with the catch in it.
