The antlers are the first thing you notice: a real branched set, dark brown, rising off a gray taupe head with a pale cream blaze running down the muzzle. He stands 20 cm (7.87 in) tall on long speckled brown legs.

Under the clothes he has a soft cream plush chest and belly. Over it goes a sleeveless gray brown fleece vest, open at the front, and around his neck a fringed scarf woven in orange, black and cream. The effect is a countryman who has just come in out of the snow, and it is the reason this one gets picked up rather than looked at.

He is one of Maileg's soft friends rather than a mouse, so he stands outside the mouse family sizing entirely and no mouse-size furniture is made for him. Linen, cotton and polyester, filled with recycled polyester and PE pellets. The pellets give him a little weight, so he sits and leans rather than blowing over.

He arrives in his own printed box: a deep blue carton with a scalloped top, a window cut in the front and fine botanical drawings in pink, mustard and sage, lettered the Reindeer above the window and maileg below it, with a wine colored paper band reading Father wrapped round him inside. Reindeer Mother is the other half of the pair.
