Dry, woody and faintly smoky, with the balsamic edge that separates a true Atlas cedarwood from the pencil shaving smell most people expect. Plant Therapy steam distills it from the wood of Cedrus atlantica growing in the forests of Morocco, and the crop is USDA certified organic.
It is one of the easier oils to live with in a diffuser: three to four drops per 100 mL of water, and it sits underneath citrus and floral oils rather than fighting them. For skin the maker's range is 2 to 4 percent in a carrier. Carries Plant Therapy's KidSafe, Pregnancy Safe, Nursing Safe and Pup and Pony Safe designations.
