Somebody in your life is having a Christmas their baby will not remember, and that is exactly why the thing you give should outlast the day. This one is a board book dressed as a greeting card: shiny foil on the cover, a flap that opens to a loving message and a ruled space for your own inscription, and an envelope so you can post it.

The pages themselves are pitched at a newborn's eyes rather than a reader's. High contrast Christmas colour, stockings on a mantel, a decorated tree, candy and cookies and Santa, all in bold shapes a baby can actually resolve. It works as a first read aloud now and as a dated keepsake later, which is a lot of mileage for something that costs less than a bouquet.
