Real tree or artificial, this is the smell that makes the living room feel like Christmas. Plant Therapy blends fir needle and black spruce into a crisp, green, coniferous scent that brings back the walk through a snowy lot of freshly cut trees, and three or four drops in a diffuser are enough to carry it through the room.
It comes undiluted and 100 percent pure in a 10 mL bottle with a pink label and a bright yellow tree, easy to spot in a stocking. The maker rates it KidSafe and safe for pregnancy and nursing, so it can run in the family room while everyone decorates. It also goes past the diffuser: stir it into homemade candles, room sprays or bath salts, or blend it at 1 to 3 percent into a carrier oil for a slow massage at the end of a long day of hanging lights.
