One scent, one flower, four salts. SopranoLabs builds this jar from Dead Sea salt, Mediterranean sea salt, Epsom salt and sea salt, then stirs whole lavender flowers through it and scents it with nothing but lavender essential oil. Open it and it smells like the plant, herbal and slightly green, rather than like the lavender in a laundry aisle.
The mixed crystal sizes are deliberate: the coarse grains take longer to go, so the scent keeps arriving as the bath fills instead of hitting all at once. About a quarter of the jar makes a bath, which is roughly four soaks. The flowers float, so a tea infuser or a muslin bag is worth having if you would rather not fish them out.
SopranoLabs was founded in New York in 2015 by the opera singer Inna Los, who still formulates every product herself. The maker states that everything is handmade from scratch in small batches, vegan and never tested on animals, and made without parabens, SLS, phthalates, fillers, artificial dyes, synthetic preservatives, GMOs, gluten, dimethicone or mineral oil.
Clear glass jar with a screw cap, 8 oz / 227 g, and a label plain enough to leave on the edge of the tub.
