Four different salts go into this jar, not one: Dead Sea salt, Mediterranean sea salt, Epsom salt and plain sea salt, each a different crystal size, which is why the jar reads as texture rather than as a uniform white powder. Dried rose petals are stirred through it, and they are what you smell first when the lid comes off.

The scent is rose geranium and palmarosa essential oils, both real distillations rather than fragrance oil. SopranoLabs calls the blend Relax and keeps it soft; it is a floral you can sit in for twenty minutes without getting tired of it. About a quarter of the jar makes a bath, so there are roughly four soaks in here.

SopranoLabs was founded in New York in 2015 by the opera singer Inna Los, who still formulates every product herself. The maker states that everything is handmade from scratch in small batches, vegan and never tested on animals, and made without parabens, SLS, phthalates, fillers, artificial dyes, synthetic preservatives, GMOs, gluten, dimethicone or mineral oil.
