A magnetic race track with one car is a queue. With two, it is a race, and that is the whole difference between a child playing beside a sibling and a child playing with one. These are the cars PicassoTiles builds for its own track systems, so they sit on the rails properly and take the curves and drops without lifting off.
Both cars light up as they run. PicassoTiles calls them Flashing LED Race Cars on the box, and the headlamps and body glow through the translucent shell, which is why this set gets pulled out again after dark when a plain car would have been put away. Each car takes one AA battery, and PicassoTiles does not include them, so put two in the drawer before the box gets opened. The shells are clear red and clear blue, which settles whose car is whose without an argument.
They are an add-on, not a starter set, and that is exactly what makes them useful.
