A high backed settle for the kitchen wall, painted in a soft sand and finished with a scalloped crest across the top and two recessed panels in the back. It is the piece that turns a mouse kitchen from a counter into a room somebody actually sits down in.

Two cushions come with it, a long seat and a matching back, both in an oatmeal burlap weave printed with tan and ochre leafy vines and scattered with small dusty blue flowers, filled soft enough to sink into.

Look at the paint before you decide it is a factory finish. Maileg calls it Light sand, and it is worked back by hand along the bottom rail, the feet, the arm ends and the front edge of the seat box, so bare wood shows through at every place a real bench would wear. That is the design, not a flaw.

It stands 13 cm (5.12 in) tall and 13 cm (5.12 in) wide at Mouse size, which is the scale the whole mouse family shares, so two or three mice fit along it shoulder to shoulder. Painted wood with cotton and linen cushions over a polyester filling.
